Beat the Summer Heat at Splish Splash!

By Allison Tursi, Holbrook Macaroni KID Publisher June 30, 2026

Another year and another full day of fun at Splash Splash to kick off the summer! My 3 kids (ages 11, 9, and 6) had so much fun from opening to close! This year they all hit 48 inches, so we were able to do all the bigger attractions together, several being a first for my youngest. They are also all good swimmers, so it was nice to be able to let them go together or alone on the slides and see the joy on their faces at the end. Having a waterpark so close to home is key to beating the heat this summer and keeping "bored" kids from  complaining. Splash Splash checked off all of our boxes ✅ Fun for everyone ✅ Manageable being outnumbered by our kids ✅ Enough attractions for each kid to enjoy.

Here's some tips on how to navigate your day at the park:

Get to the park early. The park opened at 10 and we arrived at 9:30. We got our tickets, put on sun screen, and we were ready to go. Those first few minutes after the park opened we walked right on several rides. The morning had less guests and less waiting times than later in the afternoon when more guests arrived (crowds also died down towards the end of the day). We also went on a weekday which is always our first choice so that we have less of a crowd. If you are concerned about lines you can look into the H2Go pass options.

Pack Light. Splish Splash offers lockers to rent for the day to store your belongings if you choose to do so. There are places to store your shoes outside of each attraction if you want to wear them around the park and not on a ride. You don't need much besides towels, sunscreen (the park also has a lot of shade), and a credit card as the park is cashless.

Splish Splash is a cashless park. Splish Splash accepts electronic payments such as debit cards, credit cards, and mobile payments like Apple Pay and Google Pay. There is also kiosks that turn your cash into a card if needed.

Food. No outside food or beverages are allowed within Splish Splash besides unopened bottles of water. Inside the park, there are a variety of lunch options from burgers to pizza, chicken, tacos, hotdogs, ice cream, french fries, drinks, funnel cake, and more.

Life Jackets. Life Jackets are available around the park for younger kids at no charge, but subject to availability. We saw plenty of available life vests around the park and you may bring your own Coast Guard approved lifejackets (but no other flotation devices).

Do your research. We checked out the park map and the attractions before coming to the park and already had a game plan. We looked at what rides the kids were tall enough for, which rides they would like, where the kiddie areas were, where the food and drinks were located, and where we wanted to go.

Younger Guests. Splish Splash has fun for all ages and had 5 different areas designed for younger guests including Kiddie Slides, Octopus Pool, Pirates Cove, Stingray Bay, and Yellow Submarine. Littles can also enjoy the wave pool, lazy river, Soak City, and can join you in a double tube on some of the water slides.

Have Fun. In the morning we had a game plan to go on the rides we thought would later have long lines. After that we went with the flow, went back on rides at the kids requests, and relaxed in the lazy river.
